Come see the UW’s Nuclear Reactor with us!

We have a particularly exciting and interesting tour lined up for next month – a visit to the UW’s nuclear reactor. We’ve toured it in the past but it’s been a few years – seeing the glow of the Cherenkov radiation like the picture on their official website, is pretty neat. For security purposes, they require MASN members registering for the tour to provide a photo ID, and we have to have all possible tour guests sign up by December 2nd before the tour on the 6th so they can have security forms ready. 30 members will be able to take the tour – and since we sent out the invitation to members two days ago, already 22 of the spots have been filled.

There’s still a few spots left – so we hope you can make it! If you’re one of our members, make sure to check your email that has the RSVP sign-up waiting for you in it.

Earlier this week, about 10 MASN members visited the Office of Sustainability, to have a roundtable chat with leading employees of the department on how they’re leading the charge to increase green spaces, decrease energy usage, and make the energy usage that remains more – you guessed it – sustainable!
