Several times a year, The Madison Children’s Museum honors the public pool tradition of kicking the kids out so adults (21 and up) can have the space to themselves, to play and enjoy refreshments for the evening. MASN will be there! Join in the fun.
On June 2, the theme of Adult Swim is “Glow Motion”. In addition to access to the museum exhibits, you can look forward to these special activities:
• Paint glow–in-the-dark murals in the black-lit Art Studio
• Marvel at a special performance by the multitalented P-Funk Allstar Kim Manning
• Enjoy a phosphorescent cocktail
• Learn new moves and dance the night away
• Make LED cards and fashion accessories
• Put on a shadow puppet show
• Make colossal drawings on a retro overhead projector
• Experience a rooftop hoop jam
• Savor one of the best sunset views in the city

Meet in the Mead Witter Lobby, accessed from East Campus Mall
When the Chazen Museum of Art opened in the fall of 1970 as the Elvehjem Art Center, the collection of 1,600 paintings and works on paper had been acquired by UW-Madison since 1885. Today, there are over 20,000 works of art in the museum’s collections representing the entire spectrum of art history across culture, period, media, and genre.
Join academic staff colleagues as we’re guided by a docent through highlights of the permanent collections of this jewel of a museum in our very own backyard.

Union South – check TITU for room location
Academic Staff Professional Representation Organization (ASPRO) representative, Kathi Kilgore, will give a legislative update to academic staff.
ASPRO is a not-for-profit, membership-driven, professional organization that represents the UW System academic staff and their interests to the State Legislature, the Governor, the Board of Regents, and the public.
Please bring a friend or someone from your unit! You will not want to miss this important update.
UPDATE: No snow (or ice), means no snowshoeing or walking across the lake!
So, instead of the Snowshoe/Walk on the Lake event scheduled for Friday, meet up with MASN academic staff colleagues at der Rathskeller in the newly re-opened Memorial Union on Friday, Feb. 24, 3:30pm-5:30pm. No registration required.
We hope to see you there!

Meeting at Mendota Lodge Room, Memorial Union/Outdoor UW
This event features a snowshoe walk (or regular walk–snowshoes not required!) on Lake Mendota with academic staff colleagues, just for the fun of it! Picnic Point will be our destination and hot chocolate around a blazing fire our reward. Hoofers will have snowshoes and poles available to rent on a first-come, first-served basis (approx. $14 for snowshoes and poles).
We’ll meet at 3:30pm at the Mendota Lodge Room at Memorial Union/Outdoor UW to get outfitted and otherwise set before heading out together. We’ll plan to return there by 5:30, but return time is certainly flexible for those who want a shorter or longer trek, or more time by the fire.
