Fall Events for 2023

We are excited to share our fall line-up of Events! MASN events are free and a great way to learn more about the UW-Madison community. Please feel free to share with your friends and colleagues on campus if they are interested in joining the network and attending events! All members should have received an email with a registration sign up link in it – if you are a current member and did not receive this link, please just email us and we’ll be sure to send it to you ASAP.

Arboretum Tour: Friday, October 13
Location: Arboretum Visitor Center – Meet Outside by Front Steps
Time: 12:00pm 
Sign up by Oct 6 if you plan to attend.

Tour the Arboretum to see “The Colors of Fall”. David Stevens, garden curator, will take us on a stroll through Longenecker Horticultural Gardens where he will highlight sensational seasonal colors and learn about the science behind this natural phenomenon.

Directions: 2880 Longenecker Dr, Madison, WI 53713
The Madison Metro D bus route stops on Nakoma near the west entrance for a short walk to the visitor center. Parking for cars and bikes is also available.

Bakke Recreation & Wellbeing Center Tour – Friday, November 10
Location: Bakke Recreation & Wellbeing Center – Meet at main front desk
Time: 12:00pm

The Bakke Recreation & Wellbeing Center is named for lead donors Jim (’77) and Sue Bakke. The Bakke (bah-kee) Center features spaces dedicated to supporting wellbeing services, a 25-yard recreational pool, eight multipurpose courts, Sub-Zero Ice Center, a climbing and bouldering wall, sports simulators, multipurpose studios, an indoor jogging track, a rooftop fitness area, and over 29,000 square feet of fitness space.

Dates TBD based on what works best for those who sign up. Those who sign up will be emailed separately.

A practical guide for navigating polarization and enacting social change. We will have 10 books available to give to the first members registered who need a copy.
