Join us virtually on Tuesday, March 30th at 12PM for a special discussion of the critically acclaimed new film, One Night in Miami, featuring a guest lecture and Q&A with UW Film Professor Jeff Smith. One Night tells the fictional story of one incredible night where icons Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown gathered to discuss their roles in the Civil Rights Movement and cultural upheaval of the 60s. The film has received a host of awards and nominations in recent months, including three nominations at the upcoming Academy Awards, and has been popular with both critics and audiences alike (98% and 82% scores on Rotten Tomatoes, respectively).
You are certainly not required to have seen the film prior to joining our discussion, but it is highly encouraged if you’re able to do so. One Night is available for free streaming with an Amazon Prime Video subscription HERE. If you are not already a Prime member, you may be eligible for a free 30-day trial by clicking HERE.
